Can anyone explain what's happening here?
http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=KGX&dest=PBO&grpo=1072&rlc=YNG&rte=27&tkt=GDR
It appears to be a £13.15 fare for Kings Cross to Peterborough on Virgin East Coast, valid on Saturdays & Sundays. But it doesn't appear on the National Rail fare finder for Saturdays, the cheapest express option being the £22 Any Permitted fare. So am I using NRE wrong or are Brfares advertising a non-extant fare?

What's 'Group' about it?

I think it's a promotional ticket from VTEC for weekend travel.

Brfares lists the fares from the database anyway, they're not necessarily on sale.

I agree with Starmill - I don't see how there's anything "group" about it - if you look at the page from BR Fares in the original link, under "PRICE & DISCOUNT STATUS" it says "1 adult OR 1 child", which gives the further impression it's available to lone travellers.

Unfortunately it's not available any more though; it was a temporary promotional fare available between 3 May and 21 July this year. BR Fares only shows fares that were valid at the start of each NFM (national fares manual) period, i.e. in January, May and September each year.

You may be interested to know that I'm working on an update for BR Fares that will show the validity period for temporary promotional fares such as this - I hope to have it ready for the changeover to NFM25 in September. Obviously it will only be able to show this for temporary fares that have been planned by the TOCs in advance and are in place in the fares database at the time of release of the "open data" version, three times per year.
