Rumoured that JMB won’t be taking up spt contracts that they won

Spt have released their latest committee paper and jmb have withdrawn their bid for contracts with the 235/236 and the Cory local services staying with Stuart’s and the 147/247 being taken over by blue bus

To be fair the contracts Blue bus holds are less likely to disappear, like Broxburn town service No2. Heck it might pick up other work like Whitburn town service...

The only two are the journeys on 20 and 27 which were single figures.

Jmb travel are taking over the CG1 service in the east end of Glasgow from Monday

https://www.vehicle-operator-licens...registered-local-bus-services/details/533086/
Very strange considering it’s way out of their operating area and they can’t cover the work they have just now. The past few weeks JMB drivers have been parking buses up in Motherwell to have meal breaks because there is no drivers to take them off. Therefore they are breaching the registration of the service.

So they are taking on work rejected by the successful tenderer now, rather than rejecting work they won!

It be fair this work is a lot closer to its operation base, however that 211 could be a good starting ground to expand.

Now they just need to get the drivers for it as they are already short.

Who originally won the work?

Will this be JMB’s first evening/Sunday work? On another note, both JMB’s 240 and First’s short 240’s seemed to be running around empty when I was up in Bellshill yesterday. Far too many buses running around Lanarkshire atm – something’s going to have to give.

They do a dial a bus at the moment. Not sure if it runs on
a Sunday. JMB are not doing very well between Motherwell and Birkenshaw and Firsts 240 shorts are there for one reason only.

Might be jumping the gun – the 240 could be re-registered tomorrow – but wouldn’t it be a remarkable coincidence if JMB pulled the 240 just as First pull out of Shotts?

Maybe this is there way to fix their staffing issues and get drivers for the tendered work they will be doing. They may register another service but so will need to wait and see. Maybe this cancellation is a result of what they witnessed when doing their survey.

I agree, possibly tie up with the masters of tendered services ..well dial a bus in Lanarkshire
It was suggested that there was a tie up when the enviro 200 classics appeared out of the blue.
Most operators will publicise and go into PR overdrive etc but not JMB so..your thoughts

The JMB - McGills tie up has been rumoured for a while. Apparently McGill’s have shares in JMB. The enviros have very similar interiors to the ones McGill’s have of the same age.

What Enviros? Surely you mean ADL's standard specification stock!
The 200 classics which JMB have ,have similar interior livery to McGills and cant be consider standard stock as I believe the livery used by McGills would be copyrighted or trademarked
