I know what you mean!

I think the silver 67 still has the best Jubilee livery, although I've not seen any others. Maybe in time we can have a poll!!

As requested :P

So far we have:

DB 67026 - http://farm8.static.flickr.com/7116/7009329211_7be9c044aa.jpg

FGW 43186 - http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hpho...1298978963_546148962_9586226_1399056680_n.jpg

hmmm. C2C I'm afraid rather reminds me of a BNP tattoo; FGW looks, as i said, like a box of Cadbury's Dairy Milk that they held a competition for the local primary school to design; I don't think the 90 looks too bad, actually; at least it's a nod towards Stratford tradition of old, but I think the best, ironically, is on the Spanish built loco owned by the German company.

GA's 90009 is my favourite, although FGW's isnt bad either.
That c2c one looks a bit ropey, and 67026, while nice, is a bit dull and unoriginal, like 67029.

The 90 is just dull - unimaginative
The 357 makes no attempt to use the available shape
The 253 is cluttered and fussy
So the 67 for me

Once again modern toc's proove they only see trains as a flat side to put their name/advertising/event on Instead of doing something that really works with the lines of the train. The only one that looks inspiring is DB's 67

67026 for me, it looks really smart, 2nd would be the Class 43 (despite the blue not matching the base coat)

I agree, it wouldn't have killed them to match the colour, they have done such a good job as well apart from that.

Wow, I thought it would be less one sided than this. I am the only person to vote for 90009 so far.
90009 for the win!

None are particularly inspiring.

The 357 just looks like an after thought and the 90 livery is simply tarting up a livery that has survived NXEAs entire reign. The HST livery people have atleast tried, but I have the impression someone got most of it together and than had to wait for the diamond jubilee logos (I bet the designer's expression when seeing it started "Oh.." and ended "..ck!". So that leaves the 67 which appears to be a complete repaint, is simple and doesn't look like someone opened up their 2012 diary to see "jubilee year" printed inside.

I know some see the idea of a "Stratford" style livery on the electric loc as a crime against the laws of the universe, but I like it as a "tribute". THing is, if they'd been doing a repaint, it would probably have been a white loco, and the flag and silver roofs wouldn't have looked so good- needs blue to work.

Did any TOCs do Golden Jubilee treatments?

Fine, so paint it blue with a red bufferbeam and all the other celebratory paraphenalia, but for heavens sake don't put a Stratford silver roof on an electric loco. Alternatively, paint up a Cl47 in BR banger blue with a silver roof and union flags and make it a proper homage to 47164's Silver Jubilee livery.

The silver roof is a superfluous detail and has NOTHING to do with the Diamond Jubilee celebrations.

FGW. If I were cynical I'd imply that people are voting for their favourite class rather than the livery itself...

Why is it a crime on an electric loco out of interest?

Anglia Railways did :D

I know nothing about the types of trains in the British National Railway, but the third pic (c2c 357006) looks the best.

The 67 is miles ahead. It's clean, simple and smart. The 43 is too cluttered, and the other two just look like somebody found a big union flag sticker.

I'd go with the 67 myself.

The c2c and GA liveries certainly look as if they were simply an after thought and somebody said "let's just put a union flag on the side somewhere".

At least FGW have made a bit of an effort with the design.

Shame about the Blue Peter competition logo though. Could that not have been selected and then enhanced by designers.

The 67 looks more unique to me.

I'd go for the 67 too, with 43186 in close second.

Realised the other day that whilst I was sat at Plymouth waiting for the 12:23 Plymouth - Glasgow to be unlocked, the 43186 was sat in the adjacent platform on the 12:01 Penzance - Pad.

Would have gone to see it had I have realised!

the 43 is more original that the other 3, and for that reason gets my vote. the others are predictable.

Still reasonably close at the moment, 67026 seems to be the favourite, with 357006 as the rank outsider....

Between the 67 and the 43 for me, HST edges it because yes, I prefer HST's

When I first saw a picture of the 43 though, I honestly thought it was photoshopped (because of the poor colour match).

Yeah, it was a real shame that FGW were slightly out with the colour, if they had got that right that would have probably got my vote over 90009.

At the risk of upsetting O L Leigh I prefer the 90 to the rest of them. The 67 is alright but a bit bland I think. For some reason the HST livery reminds me of some sort of chocolate box branding.

Having looked at all the colour schemes, even before reading the above comment, I was thinking to myself '47164 looked better than all of those'. And this is coming from someone who doesn't really like 47s!

Can we now add LU's 2 1996 Tube Stock to the poll?

I saw this train today; looks very good - unfortunately they appear to have covered up the carriage side numbers leaving only the half obscured ones on the ends under the cabs visible; I *think* one end was unit 96060 but I couldn't see what the unit on the other end was!
