Just seen a advert for this show. Starts next Monday at 10pm (after Paddington). Not sure if it is a one off or series.

I assume this won’t just be clips from Inside Kings Cross: The Railway, similar to Paddington - a year on the tracks, which was just clips from the Paddington 24/7 series? I hope that it will be new footage.

Interesting enough so far, although the black and white archive footage featured in the opening ten minutes seems to be anything but new! ;)
I think I’ll let them of for that! I hope it will be on catch up though as I haven’t really got time to watch it now.

Seems to be more of a social, architectural and railway history than the typical "fly on the wall" documentaries that have littered the schedules in recent months.

They seem to have plundered the BTF/BFI archives for a lot of the footage. The Elizabethan Express seems to masquerade as the Flying Scotsman several times. Likewise they often seem to confuse York with KX. Towards the end even an NSE 3rd rail EMU appears. No mention of York Road station or Deltics. It could have been better.

Closing couple of minutes of the programme deteriorated somewhat into corporate promotional video territory.

Whoever wrote the script does not know the difference between ‘train’ and ‘locomotive’.
