Because it's hard to get actual data here, please give me some anecdotal evidence. :)

I'm wondering, basically, what are my odds of getting a seat in the 9:42 ex-KGX and the 17:08 and 17:43 ex-CBG?

(As someone from Scotrail-land, I'm all "bleh bleh penalty fare area meaning no possibility of excessing ticket to first on-board, and actually having to make a decision ahead of time")

0942 should be fine.

1708 and 1743 can routinely leave Cambridge with most/all seats taken, particularly on Thursdays/Fridays.
