This morning I discovered that a large countdown clock has been installed on the wall opposite the gateline at KX Thameslink, which will supposedly count down the time to the last train leaving and hence the station closing (It was stuck at 0). The whole installation completely covers the mural on the wall, with the same slightly disturbing "Love St Pancras" branding as seen on posters and their website. Whether the station will be destroyed in an impressive fireball when the clock runs out was unclear, but many people would welcome it.

It remains a big mystery what will happen come 9th December with King's Cross Thameslink because trains will still run through it so whether it is left as an evacuation point, platforms removed, or whether it just falls into disuse is unknown.

I do wonder what will happen with the tunnel to the Victoria, Piccadilly, and Northern Lines - is it possible that the Pentonville Road entrance remains open with all access to the platforms at King's Cross Thameslink closed off? Or will the whole tunnel upto the Victoria Line platforms be shut off?
