Lancaster to Manchester Airport

Looking to make this journey on Saturday May 7th.

There appear to be services leaving LAN: 11.17 (Northern) and 11.24 (TPE).

They both appear to arrive at Piccadilly and the Airport at the same time.

1) Is this to do with the changeover of franchises?
2) Do both services actually run from Lancaster through to MIA?

The 1117 service only runs through to Preston, since the franchise changeover services between Barrow & Manchester, Windermere Branch & Blackpool - Manchester transfered from TPE to Northern.
