Hi,

I'd like to pick your brains about a journey on Saturday. I'm on pain of death to be at Whitefield for 12.15pm prompt.

My ideas are:

Lancaster-Bolton-(bus)-Whitefield
Lancaster-Kearsley-(bus or taxi)-Whitefield
Lancaster-Manchester Victoria-(Metrolink)-Whitefield

What would you opt for?

Returning not fussed, likely to be given a lift to Kearsley or Bolton.

I had to attend a funeral in Whitefield last month. I found the Metrolink from, in my case, Piccadilly to be by far the simplest option. Fares were £3.70 day return or £6.00 family return valid for two adults with kids optional, not compulsory.

You now need children to buy a family return - Metrolink has recently changed the rules. I think that the website shows the now correct information but a PDF which the website links to does not. If you are in a group the Four Adults Day Saver would probably be better.
