Late Night TPE Trains Through Todmorden

Why do some late night (i.e. 0-5 am) TPE trains (such as 1P04 0422 MIA - 0735 NLC) go through Todmorden rather than through the Transpennine line?

No, there's no reason for it to. From Hare Park junction, the line to Wakefield Kirkgate enters from the east.
