Looking to see if we can get a trip to Edinburgh now that the strike has been called off.

It's half term next week so I'm well aware this may push prices up. I've checked on the VTEC site and I'm only getting fares at £75.50 for two people.

I'm sure there must be a cheaper route somewhere out there?

Ideally looking to be in Edinburgh between 09:00 and 10:30. Two adults, no rail cards. Return trip after 17/18:00.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

What day? There's a lovely Preston - Edinburgh Off-Peak Day Return for £39, valid to depart after 0929. Travel via Carlisle and come up with some other way of getting to Preston - TPE Advances or the £20.80 'Via Burnley' Anytime Day Return.
