Hi guys,
Was wondering if any of you had pics, info on timings and an idea of what runs along my branch.
The line goes form Burton Upon Trent, passed the power sation, then passes through the town's of swannigton and Coalville and on to bardon (Which is still in use) the line carries on untill it reaches the MML just south of leicester.
I would also like to know whether the Coalville section still has trains running on it as I would like to go there and take some pics.

Hello mate, When my friend used to work in Derby PSB he said there was about one train a day that ran the whole length. this was a few years ago though.

Your best bet may be to go to www.railchat.co.uk and see if there is any Derby signalmen about on there and ask them.

Thanks bonnie, Could you ask your mate whether any still do and if so what time?
Does anyone have any information on the line, or the re-opening of Coalville Depot by Fmrail.
Thanks
Andy

I seem to remember reading an article in one of the railway mags a month or two ago about some of the lines in this area - unfortunately I can't recall which one (the railway magazine or rail would be favourites though).

Latest press release from FMRail seems to be that they will move two locomotives there within a month, or something like that, cant remember the details exactly.

Dennis: I believe it was in The Railway Magazine, showing photographs of the lines around the East Midlands, including the MML at Syston prior to the slow line being single tracked, and with a rather large cement factory standing on what would become the station and car park. With a Corporate Blue Class 45 screaming past at the head of a rake of AirCon Mk2's on a train to London.

They're in the open at Immingham at the minute, Coalville, Immingham, no difference :)

A rare opportunity to travel on this line is on 26 August, the Rutland Renegade (10:00 departure from Birmingham New St) 2x20s. Operated by Pathfinder.

i am thinking of doing so matt.
Pathfinder tours are priced more resonably, well i think so. :toothy10:

The two 56's were hauled in by 33 and a 31.
Cant remember the whole number for the 33 and 31 but can check of anyone wants to know.

Thanks yorkie for the heads up!

I'd like to do that too. If there's enough interest perhaps we can get a block booking and get seats together?
