Scraping move yesterday. 66733 hauled 12166, 12148, 12081, 12051, 12057, 12139 to Booths. Not sure of the headcode.

Edit: I've just seen you've already included this :)

10722 has been moved from Long Marston to the Cambrian Heritage Railway.

Apparently the Northampton & Lamport Railway are also due some TSOs, but I don’t know which numbers are involved.

Ownership for 10413, 11078, 12021/098 shows as Eastern Rail Services. 11095 doesn't, however.

So, 11095 Has a new owner already, as it has moved on from Eastern Rail Services. This is, rather surprisingly the Downpatrick and County Down Railway.

You read right, the DCDR now actually has in its fleet a former Greater Anglia Mk3 No. 11059 - a 'FOD' or First Open Disabled for those not au fait with GB terminology.
We are really grateful to Porterbrook Leasing Company Limited specifically Mark and Gary there for their amazing support and generosity in this, rather unusual, project for us.
We were serious in our April Fool's post when we said we want to refit the currently bare 450 Driving Trailer No 788 with First Class seating and create a far more luxurious setting for things like our highly successful Afternoon Tea events.
It began when we asked on a carriage restoration forum if anyone knew where we might be able to get some of these seats - we felt it appropriate to use Mk3 seats since the 450 (for carriage nerds) is essentially a railcar version of these types of carriages, and so (in theory) the components will be compatible.
Porterbrook came back to us positively, and outlined how best to arrange this - take a whole carriage! We had given serious thought to their suggestion to ship the vehicle to NI for stripping and then disposal, but it wasn't economically feasible - what we would get in scrappage would not cover the transport.
However, we touched base with James Steward from Eastern Rail Services who was at the same time negotiating for a number of these vehicles himself, and came to an arrangement we would proceed with the acquisition, and ESR would look after the logistics, with the vehicle eventually passing to them, which will (unlike shipping it to NI) safeguard its immediate future.
Earlier today 11095 and her sister carriages were moved to a yard in Great Yarmouth, where James and Steven Boulton sent us these photos.
We had hoped this would be an excellent excuse for a trip to the Norfolk seaside to see our new addition to the fleet, but then the Covid19 lockdown came. However we will be looking forward to the next part - getting the seats and tables over in due course once this is all over.
So an April Fools that turned out to be true? Oh how we chortled at everyone who said they hadn't been caught out. We are talking jape of the decade. We are talking April, May, June, July and August fool. With thanks to Holly from Red Dwarf

I have now added older disposal from the BR and early-privatisation period. Please let me know if you spot any mistakes.

The 4 ex-TfW Mark 3s (12182-12185) at Crewe LNWR have been moved to Long Marston today (as 5V94 behind 47813).
Following on from this move. Immediately afterwards today Friday the 29th may there was another move 1423 long marston to Leicester L.I.P left 154 minutes early should have departed at 1654. Was showing on realtime trains at bromsgrove at 1530. Would this have been another mk3 disposal move or stock move to go elsewhere from long marston and to where,?. Also does anyone know what stock this involves as well?
This information would be much appreciated.

Apparently the Northampton & Lamport Railway are due to get another three ex-GA Mk3s, but the identities are currently unknown.

Presumably they’ll be from the coaches still at Norwich or on the Mid-Norfolk Railway, rather than those at Long Marston?

It depends what vehicles they are getting. By my reckoning there's just three TSOs (and three DVTs) unaccounted for still at Norwich/Mid-Norfolk.

TSOs seem the most likely, so could be them. Aren’t the Mid-Norfolk supposed to be having a rake of Mk3s as well?

HI Phil, Have you or anyone on here the former numbers of the 102XX's that went to MOD Caerwent and were scrapped by J T Landscapes, I have 10220/21/27/34/38/48/51&52. I believe the were converted from RFB 100xx or FO 11xxx as most of the other 102xxs were. I also have no idea of 10239/43/44&54, were they converted as well or the number left unused.any help will be appreciated. Pete.

From memory, 10239/44/44 were never used as the number clashed with something else....very old SR EMU's I think. Not sure on 10254 though.

  • 10220 ex-FO 11056
  • 10221 ex-FO 11012
  • 10227 ex-FO 11057
  • 10234 ex-RFB 10004
  • 10238 ex-RFB 10017
  • 10248 ex-RFB 10005
  • 10251 ex-RFB 10024
  • 10252 ex-RFB 10008
The numbers 10239/43/44 were not used

10254 was scrapped at JT Landscapes (my original list has 10255 which was a typo).

Additionally several 102xx RFMs have been converted to other types:
  • Converted to TSOB - 10200/203/214/216/223/228/247 (renumbered 10411-417 in order)
  • Converted to GFW - 10208/230/236/255 (renumbered 10272/273/271/274)

Hope that helps.

The three in the Night Riviera (all originally FO) have also recently been very heavily modified inside - not sure whehter they changed the classification though.

I believe that those and the Chiltern ones you list above are now the only RFMs (or ex-RFMs) still in TOC use, although a number of others have recently moved to private operators and preservation.

It’s more than one rake! I’ll try to remember to dig out the numbers later and post them.

By my reckoning this leaves 12030, 12129 and 12130 still at Norwich/Dereham. Could these be for the Northampton & Lamport Railway? Unless theirs are coming from Long Marston, as some of the sleeper stock there has moved to preservation sites.

That's good - we have the same vehicles as unaccounted for! :D

I also have DVTs 82107/112/133 as not moved anywhere else as yet.

As to where the Northampton & Lamport vehicles are coming from, I wouldn't like to predict - it could be either those three or vehicles out of Long Marston or, indeed, a mixture.
