Thanks for the 'heads up' to this. I await interest to see what happens to the power cars...

I read on Twitter that one of the power cars suffered a major failure before being switched off there... if so - why wouldn’t that be going for scrap as well?

Travelled past Tyne Yard this afternoon and a DRS 47/57 was shunting the HST set. The loco was attached to the P.C. at the N end (43075) and the set was being split either between the buffet and the first TFO or between the first and second TFOs suggesting a coach was being detached. No power car on the S end, though.

As reported above, vehicles 41112/068, 40751 (EDIT: Actually 40805!), 42194/227/225 and 44027 are currently being moved from Tyne Yard to Newport for scrap behind 57312.

TS 42229 remains behind at Tyne Yard along with power cars 43061 and 43075.

Sorry my mistake, it must have been the standard end that was being shunted yesterday - went past at speed.

I'm confused about 40751; it was in an EMR set towards the end of last year (the one damaged in the Corby flood) being regarded as the NL spare and, I thought, 40805 was the NL65 regular. What's happened to 40805?

Oops, sorry about that, that was my error as I was reading off an older stock formation list. It is indeed 40805 that is being moved to Newport, as a Youtube video I saw showed the catering vehicle with the "It's Never Dull in Hull" vinyls that 40805 wears. For the avoidance of doubt though I have seen it confirmed elsewhere today that it's 42229 that has remained behind at Tyne Yard.

Thanks for this.

For those still at Neville Hill, are they due to become part of the EMR Fleet?

Yes - I would expect those four power cars (with sets EC51/59) to be the first into service with EMR.

Not directly power car related but I couldn't see a better thread for it: Ex-LNER HST Trailer Firsts 41062 and 41154 are now sitting at the back of Crewe station - I assume these are Locomotive Services' first vehicles.

It was a test run after repair / re-commissioning at Neville Hill, not a crew training run.
