Hello Tim, welcome back, you have been quiet for some time.
A class 33 on the Airedale line, when did that last happen? :)

Apparently a couple of times on railtours, but less than a handful.

I've just installed my new scanner, so might sometime finally get around to scanning all my older train photos. Unfortunately they were taken with a very basic camera, so many are too poor to use, but some of them seem okay. Here is a quick test scan:

I have a lot of assignment work on at the moment and still got thousands of digital photos to sort, so don't expect a lot of scans any time soon, but still interesting for the historical value.

Not been too much of interest running past lately, at least not in daylight, but Black 5 45121 passing Steeton on the way to the ELR, from the KWVR, made for an interesting sight, if difficult shot due to very bright morning sunlight.

A couple of bits from Leeds lately:

And an unexpected flyby from Flying Scotsman a week or so back, listed as an ECS working I was expecting nothing more than a WCRC 47, but went down for the shot anyway:

Superb photos here. Particularly like the night, foggy and snowy ones with the atmosphere it creates. It makes the Airedale line seem like a nice line!
Jokes aside its not really a bad little line.

Steeton, Skipton and Keighley are all pretty local to me, in fact I travel out of Skipton virtually every day. Only difference is I go North instead of South!

I look forward to seeing more of your images and will follow this thread with interest.

Rumours of my demise were, perhaps, greatly exaggerated.

I've been buried under professional exams for the last 6 months, so not had much time to play with trains. Now I get back to the railways to find everything is different - bizarre new destinations from Leeds (Lincoln, Southport, Barrow), the return of 156s to Yorkshire, new Scotrail and FGW units.

But perhaps the most notable change for me is that there is now a perfectly timed Lancaster to Leeds service which I can catch in the mornings when I work in Keighley, adding some pleasant variation to the 333s. It has produced 142, 144, 150 and even a 158 (yes, really) so far.

A little bit behind the times, I have uploaded my summer 2018 local gallery into Flickr now, making around 750 photos in my assorted local gallery.

It was a pretty good summer on the Airedale Line.

Lots more Pacer action on my commute with the retimed Lancaster to Leeds service in the morning.

Plus a little 150 action:

Plus we got an infiltration of old GWR units onto the Airedale Line

Plus Scotrail units at Leeds (I've not seen them on the Airedale Line yet, but sure they must have worked it at some point)

Then some of the more interesting sights:

Gauging tests at Keighley - ran several times over a couple of days.

A pair of 37s and Black 5 heading for Fort William

An an unexpected sight on the Worth Valley platforms:

(BTW: If anyone has the ID for this tamper, I would appreciate it)

I will guess at 75302
Seen in the area recently, others of the same type are working a bit far away.
Middlesbrough Carriage Sidings 26 Mar 2019 Alex Betteney
York 14 Mar 2019 Nick Garnham
Leeds Holbeck OTPD 1 Mar 2019 Kent Green

But I may be wrong.

Thanks for your research, but the picture is actually from July 23rd 2018.

I don't know if it was working on the line itself, or had just been stabled in the KWVR sidings - track machines often seem to end up there. The crew were seemingly having trouble with one of the switches so perhaps it had to move into the platforms to change tracks?

In that case 3 Volker tampers were active within striking distance of Keighley.
75401, 75402 seen at Doncaster 25/7/18
And 75302 working out of Doncaster and Leeds Holbeck between 5th JUly and 8th August.
Would guess at 75302 as being the candidate.

So I'm about a year behind with my photo sorting, need to sort that out... maybe by going out and taking more photos and never sorting them?

A couple of shots from my latest upload, 31/07/18

Some more regional interlopers at Leeds and Kirkstall Forge

33207 had some good runs this time last year, I had a nice part-fare from Wakefield to Leeds.
