Nice and Love The Picture of 009 at Keighley at Night only if my Camera would take picture like that instead of just massive balls of light

What camera are you using and what settings? There may be a way to get a more pleasing result :)

Some nice shots in there...it's really time I headed back down that way as there are some nice photo opps and a bit of variation as well!

Down my way???

Admittedly, now with the introduction of the 322's and the occasional 321 knocking about, 333's on the norm, 142/144/150/153 and 158 all working Carlisle/Morecambe AND freight, it's not a bad little line...

Makes a bit of a change from 'big' trains up my way :p
Some different photo opportunities...shame about the OLE though

I personally like OLE in the shots to be honest. And ive ridden the 333s any disadvantages of OLE are thrown out of window cos those units are fantastic.

The units are good, they are reliable, modern, good capacity, comfortable, i'm just bored of them having travelled on them so many times... If I can get a Morecambe/Carlisle into Leeds, I will, just because it's a bit different and (puts enthusiast hat on) they have character, whereas the 333's are a bit dull...

Some more from the last month in the rather varied weather:

Most exciting though was this catch at Bradford which completes my Class 333 collection:

Why not check out shots of all 16 of the class in my Complete Class 333 set.

180102 it seems..
This unit is being used to cover units heading to the overhaul programme at Loughborough, covering both HT and GC units. Its a GC unit in the works at the moment, hence '102 is covering its diagram. The unit has seen use at both Hull, Sunderland and Bradford in recent months.

Not updated here in a while:

Had some fun in early July when a 321 failed at Keighley and threw the unit allocation around for a couple of days, leading to the unusual sight of a 150 at Forster Square on an Ilkley service (the first visit of a 150 to Ilkley?) and a 144 in a 1990s throwback running a Leeds to Skipton train:

A chance encounter with the Northern Belle:

And nowhere near the Airedale Line, an even better chance encounter:

It is a Vauxhall Victor F series, from the late 1950s. Rather added to the surreality of the moment.

In the last photograph, I like the juxtaposition, between the old and the new (Class 180 and old car).

...
Though by no means a common sight, we have had the occasional 150/1 and 150/2 at Ilkley over the years.

Some photos from today, took my good lady on a day trip to Sheffield Christmas Market and just happened to schedule on to 1V50, one of the XC HST sets, seen here at Leeds along with a few other shots from there today:

Popped across to Shipley to see 1M99 - the Carlisle to Nottingham service passing through, as far as I recall, the first local operator service to pass directly through Leeds since a few Saturday morning shopper trains to Sheffield in the early 2000s. They didn't last too long although this service seems to be more due to timetabling convenience - if the Carlisle to Leeds leg is delayed in winter weather, the Leeds to Nottingham leg does not count as an extra delayed train, just the same one.

Also got a Morecambe bound Pacer:

Not worth a thread on its own, so I will put it here - I have been digging through my digital photo archives to wring out the last few hidden railway photos and found a few images from various locations, from 2004-2011 that for whatever reason I have not previously uploaded, mostly because at the time they were rather routine, although now rather more interesting with a number of disappeared liveries - a few highlights:

So with all my publishable digital train photos now online (with the exception of a couple of foreign sets I need to sort), time to start raiding my old film archives.

So back to the Airedale line and the first short trip of the year - always worth photographing trains in the snow, so the freight and a completely unexpected WCRC working was a real bonus:

Your 37s are 0Z37 Carnforth to Newcastle with snowplough standby locos, one for York and one for Geordieland!
