Hi

Please note that this is NOT definate:

It is possible that Saturday December 9th will be the date of the Lincoln Christmas Market shuttles from Nottingham-Lincoln, last year these were operated by 47/57 Top and Tail, although MML HSTs have been known in the past. If the shuttles do run and are loco hauled/HST, then a meet will be organised, this is just a heads up incase anyone needs to look into tickets!!

Hi

Brian Milner said:
According to Rail Planner, the following additional trains will run on
Saturday 9 December:
08-46 Leicester dep 09-27 Nottingham to Lincoln 10-15
10-38 Lincoln to Nottingham 11-33
11-40 Nottingham to Lincoln 12-30
17-00 Lincoln to Nottingham arr 1747 Leicester 18-17

None of these trains are booked to call at Newark Castle, so they
could be quite long; they could be an HST, loco-hauled or a collection
of sprinters.

The schedules are slower than last year but Central are trying to
improve punctuality these days.

Regards
Brian Milner

There aren't any non sprinter diagrams booked into TRUST yet, apparently, but these additional trains havent been added yet either, so it could go either way.

Will keep you posted!
I would expect this to be West Coast loco-hauled, as Central management have
indicated this is the case
If this is true, then we will probably have 47/57 T&T as last year, which would be excellent :)

Since we are now talking about real news and rumours then I think NR General Discussion would be more appropriate :)

"Jingle Bells Jingle bells, jingle all the way"

And i would of used an East Midlands Ranger, makes people from other parts of the country get cheaper tickets. Depends on what area you come from though.

Ooh, thanks for the reminder! I had forgotten about those ADEXs!

If I can go, ie I have the day off, I'll try and do it. As I'm going off to Leeds the weekend after though, I doubt I'll make it. Hmm...I've missed these ADEXs two years in a row already, I don't want to make it a third...

I'll be on one of these if I can!

I have been informed (perhaps optomistically) that a slim device is being lined up to accompany the ronnie for this, which represents a great improvement over some twank IF it happens

You need to get your priorities right Max!!

They aren't really "ADEX's" as such, they are just loco-hauled relief trains for the market, ADEX's usually went longer distances, and not shuttling, plus they were "advertised", thats where the "ad" comes from, and at the moment Central aren't advertising anything about strengthened services, despite it happening in less than a month.

I tend to automatically call a loco-hauled train on the mainline with CT/ATW/FGW/whoever an ADEX. No idea why, but hey!

According to posts on teh brush47 gen group it looks like it will be top and tailed class 47s. 57601 might be used on a different tour that day

57601 (+a spoon) are due to be working the Green Express to Eton & Windsor on that day (which I am now stewarding on)- so it is v. unlikely to be the ronnie on the XMAS market specials.
