The Lindsey Oil Refinery - Preston Docks bitumen tank trains (6M32/6E32) have only run on a very small number of occasions since the Christmas/ New Year break. There was a rumour this time last year that Colas were giving up the contract for this flow, but they carried on operating it for the rest of 2020. Does anyone on here know what the current situation is?

This rumour seems to surface every year after the Christmas break! Traditionally the demand for bitumen based products drops in January / February, and the Total site at Preston uses this period to perform various maintenance tasks, and they over order product in from Lindsey in the run up to the Christmas shutdown in order to have plenty of stock to see them through with less deliveries.

Ribble Rail have been awarded an additional five year contract for haulage between the exchange sidings at Strand Road, and the discharge point within the Total site, so I can't see the flow going away anytime soon.
