On Saturday 5th May, and the Sunday.

I've checked the Saturday either side of this date and Virgin are running their normal service.

Does anyone know why they're not running their trains on this date?

This will cause mayhem.

guaranteed to be a team from liverpool in the fa cup final that weekend

is there any remote chance they would call off the engineering work?

What's the chances of easements being put in place?

NRE quoting 8 hour journey time on Sunday 6 May for a LDN MIDLAND only ticket - London to Liverpool....

What easements would you want?

Something which improves on an average speed of 25 miles per hour !

Anyway. My final destination is DGS. I thought I would look at Virgin sail and rail to improve my journey time. I cannot even buy EUS-DGS Open Return departing Sun 6 May.

Can Liverpool supporters not catch services into Manchester and use the 3tph from Piccadilly to Euston???
