Hello,

I'm intending to travel to Llanfairfechan, which has a limited service.

Is it permitted to double back via Bangor?

Thanks!

Not to my knowledge. Depending on the time of day you may be able get the 5 bus from outside Llandudno Junction station, or walk a short distance to the "flyover" to get a frequent X5 or a 5. Sadly PlusBus from the Junction would not cover you to Llanfairfechan. The bus would at least take you to the village centre.

This is the only easement that mentions Llanfairfechan -

"Customers travelling from Llanfairfechan, Penmaenmawr and Conwy via Bangor may double back via Llandudno Junction. This easement applies in both directions."

Tried Derby > Bangor > Penmaenmawr on National Rail website, which it seems to like. But it doesn't like Derby > Bangor > Llanfairfechan :s

It's not a permitted doubleback.

Bangor is not a routeing point, and if it was then it would fail the fares check.

If you wish to go outward via Bangor, and return direct, you could buy a return from Derby to Bangor, and break your journey on the return portion.

This is intended for people traveling west of Bangor, say Holyhead. It has been implemented in journey planners
