The routes you'll definately find them working on are Nuneaton - Coventry and the Marston Vale Line, the latter also has a 150 working on it.

I was under the impression that LM still had 8 Class 153s - 334, 354, 356 ,364, 365, 366, 371 and 375.

In addition to the workings mentioned in the previous post, they are also used M-F to strengthen some 170s in and around Birmingham and used to have a working on the Snow Hill lines (does that still happen now we have all the 172s?). And recently, I found one out on a Saturday on the back of a 170 from Shrewsbury.

Yes the 150+153 Dorridge working went over 170+153 and will remain as such for the foreseeable future.

There is the Coventry shuttle all day and Marston Vale all week which gets swapped on Friday.

I believe there is peak workings on the Rugeley and Shrewsbury and I would guess Hereford still as well.

Other than that I don't really know exact timings.

On the London Midland wikkipedia site it said that London Midland has 7 Class 153,

It's a shame that they aren't used on the Chase Line on Saturdays

The 0734 HFD-BHM (1M57) has been worked by a 170/5 & 153 combination every day M-F since January (or certainly February). It arrives as 2B00 - 0600 Worcs Shrub Hill to Hfd, before reversing at the carriage sidings to form 1M57.

There are usually lots of LM 153s stabled N of Shrub Hill each evening - including the units which I have seen on 1M57 the following day.

And I am 99% sure Ive seen 153354 within the last week on 1M57.

Yet more diesels running completely under the wires there I see... Not enough 323s for Walsall now?

I think there are two Walsall - Birmingham (and reverse) workings worked by 170+153 combi's every weekday. But this is because these services are inter-linked with the Birmingham - Rugeley services. These are the services that used to run semi-fast to Rugeley before December 2010 when they were cut back to Walsall due to funding cuts. There are another 4 return workings like this every weekday that are 170 operated without the 153's.

170+153 Combi's used to be the staple traction on the Chase line, but now they only run out to Rugeley three times a day on week days only. They work the 05:56, 08:07 & 11:39 Birmingham - Rugeley services and the 07:04, 09:06 & 13:06 Rugeley - Birmingham services.

They stopped being used on evening peak services in December 2011 when these went over to 4 car 170 operations. 153's can't be used in four car combinations on the Chase because SDO is needed for the short platforms between Bloxwich and Rugeley Town.

Have you got details of all the LM DMU diagrams? I've always wanted to see if their DMU's could be better utilized.
