Just a quick question about booking a wheelchair place using the LNER app. I was recently looking at booking a return journey from Darlington to Kings Cross for my wife who uses a motorised wheelchair & myself. Putting in dates, times i want to travel, railcard, all no issue. You then get seats assigned to you with an option to change them. which brings up a seat map with available seats, but no way of letting the system know at any point that I can see that a wheelchair space is required. (Passenger Assist Request is on the review page along with times and seats confirmation).
We made the same journey last August and for the life of me, I can't remember the process of how we got the wheelchair spot we needed. I suspect @Wallsendmag or @Haywain are in the best position to help or let me know if this able to be done in the app.
Thanks in advance.

I’m afraid that at present you can’t book a wheelchair space through the app or website. You would need to call our assisted travel line.

Thanks @Haywain . Just out of curiosity, do you know why it can't be done at present, and is it likely to be a feature at some point?
Thinking back to last year when I made the same journey, I think I went to the ticket office at Middlesbrough Station and bought the Railcard and tickets, and then booked Passenger Assistance online later.

I don’t know the ins and outs of it but it is being developed so will be available in the not too distant future.
