Can sadly confirm that 91132 was totally scrapped at Sims Dunkirk, Nottingham. A complete locomotive to parts in an afternoon. Such a sad and sobering sight. Many components looked brand new!

Are there some stored sets earmarked for Grand Union's Euston-Stirling service should it get the go ahead? I know it's unlikely to get approved, but ORR haven't thrown it out yet have they? There would be some embarased faces at Eversholt if ORR gave Grand Union the go-ahead but all off-lease IC225 sets had been scrapped.

May they get some of the 12 sets that LNER are about to bring back (Hopefully)?

I guess they are unlikely to require a full set of 9 coaches? There certainly seems to be a lower proportion of buffered end coaches going to scrap than other intermediate ones. Then again remnants of rakes seem to be disappearing at pace now, so who knows...

I assumed that just the removed vehicles from GC and TfW rakes going for scrap?

Stored at Belmont Yard (Doncaster) awaiting return to service with LNER:
91106/114/119

Stored at Doncaster Works (parts donors):
91103/108

Stored at Doncaster Works (assumed parts donor):
91104

On overhaul at Doncaster Works for return to service with LNER:
91101/109/111

Stored in Leicester (for Europhoenix):
91117/120

Stored at Neville Hill, awaiting return to service with LNER:
91105/107/110/124/127/130

If there are any errors on my list, please let me know :)
Is Belmont Yard visible from the ECML? I’m after 91113 hopefully before it goes for scrap! Thanks in advance

Wonder if the 91s that are refurbished will emerge in a livery similar to that applied to the IETs?

That would be nice. I never liked the VTEC/LNER 'livery' as the vinyls always looked dull and faded, especially after a few years hard use.

Glad it's not just me. Some people seem to really rate it, but to me it's just a bit "meh".

It's partly obscured by some trees, you can get a glimpse of the 91s parked up there, but it's too distant to be able to identify any of them.

So do a few IC225s return to service in a fortnight's time?
According to the LNER booking engine the first trains from Leeds on Monday 17th May are not azumas
7th June should be the return date for them.

Two diagrams Saturday but one is a late night ECS only, other is 1Y00 followed by Leeds turns. Three diagrams on Sundays.
Oh right that’s excellent, will make sure to get as many of those remaining as I can. Thanks

As a regular user of 1A13, this is nice to see! 1A13 was a 91/Mk4 service for much of last year, too - I wonder why, wouldn't it be operationally easier to curtail the hauled sets to Leeds?

Don't think it overly matters. It's more important the diagrams are easy to resource and start/finish at the right places and don't interlink with services to Edinburgh or Newcastle. When more sets reappear the turns may well then need reworking and few more York runs will probably feature.

Assume the continued use of 91 sets preclude any journey time improvements? The 801/800 performance is not (yet) reflected in the TT. I remember my first time on a 395 thinking how good these types would be on the ECML forcing you back into your seat, but they just drift around still broadly using the HST performance profile from 40 years ago. Very slow approaches to stations as well compared to elsewhere in Europe.

According to Roger Ford in the current Modern Railways, some sectional running times on some services will be improved in May 21 but the big change will be Dec 22. Major issue is that saving the odd minute or so can have repercussions elsewhere so other service will need retiming.
