LNER Colour

I am lucky enough to own the old station buildings at Sleights on the Esk Valley Line, I would like to paint the woodwork on the platform an historical colour, probably LNER green. Could anyone recommend a colour from a major manufacturer that would be a close match?

I have a copy of the LNER branding guide but i would suspect it's not the LNER that you're thinking of

Yes, further to the other useful link - this page seems to include the BS colour code references which presumably a mainstream paint supplier where colour is mixed could match (eg Dulux decorator centre type place)?

Goes on to explain a buckingham green was used after 1937 ('Light Buckingham Green' I suspect from supplier below)

Craftmaster may be a bit specialist for your project but they are good (relevant page 'Railway Colours', scroll down for LNER colours)

As above, probably near you you could find out what North Yorks Moors railway use on buildings maybe. And how good they look on the finished building.

I guess you also have the option of North Eastern Railway colours, or BR North Eastern Region colours.

Good luck with it - I for one would think it was great that the building owner had taken the trouble to match the trad colours, and I would enjoy seeing the results (maybe you can post a picture when you have done some of the job!)

Edit - just recalled that a couple of years back Worksop station was restored to LNER colours by Network Rail and Railway Heritage Trust - some pics here which may give you a sense of the LNER green colours in use on that project. May be other better pics on web as well
