LNER "Discount Authority" with student discount

I just purchased some tickets with LNER's 40% student discount (https://www.lner.co.uk/tickets/offers-and-discounts/unidays/).

On collecting the tickets (I collected from a station, rather than an e-ticket - perhaps an error), the tickets is marked with 'D', and saus Adult Single valid 'with Discount Authority'. What is this discount authority? I have proof of student status if needed, but otherwise have nothing else. Googling shows a discount authority is usually used on staff leisure travel and suchlike, and comes with a card. Is this likely to cause a problem?

Interesting... must have changed since I bought an e-ticket with one of these codes.

Mine has no discount at all, and the barcode discount flag is set to false

Aah perfect. Do you know if the ticket is eligible for using the Seatfrog 1st class upgrade?
Yes it would be, just like any ticket.

I got a "Discount Authority" ticket today, it seems that they have a variable discount amount as when checked on BRFares it shows no discount at all to public fare.

I believe that generic railcard code (status 18 if I remember rightly) is put in the railcard field when a non-railcard discount has been applied, and there is no railcard also applied. You won't find the discount on brfares because it isn't actually a railcard, it's one of two other types of discount that aren't public

Groupsave or variations of this concept usually print “Discount Authority” from LNER machine when collecting. I regularly send 3 or 4 people together from Newark to Wimbledon for example and this prints for them.
