It is now confirmed class 47's and 57's are cleared to run on the
following
FORT WILLIAM TO MALLAIG
Mallaig Branch - I am happy to accept, subject to current published
restrictions for Class 66 Loco's as published in Scotland Route PON
between Fort William Jn & Corpach plus the following additional:
Underbridge 29 (6m 400yds) - 20mph
No double-heading is permitted. In the event of a loco failure, top-
and-tail operation is required or alternatively a barrier vehicle of
60' must be introduced between failed & recovery loco's.
INVERNESS TO KYLE OF LOCHALSH
Kyle Line - I am happy to accept these loco's subject to the
following conditions:
Underbridge 1 (0m 671yds) - 10mph
Underbridge 40 (20m 517yds) - 10mph
Underbridge 70 (27m 1705yds) - 10mph
Underbridge 96 (39m 1243yds) - 20mph
Underbridge 103 (44m 249yds) - 20mph
Underbridge 104 (46m 253yds) - 20mph
No double-heading is permitted. In the event of a loco failure, top-
and-tail operation is required or alternatively a barrier vehicle of
60' must be introduced between failed & recovery loco's.
WEST HIGHLAND LINE
West Highland Line - I am happy to accept Class 47/57's under the
current published restrictions for Class 66 Loco's, as published in
Scotland Route PON. These are "stand alone" restrictions, except of
course for any relating to the particular Class of Train, as
published in the Sectional Appendix. No routine double-heading
permitted - in the event of a loco failure, recovery as per
restrictions for Class 66 loco's to be observed.
OBAN BRANCH
The use of class 47 and class 57 locomotives remains PROHIBITED
