Good evening all

Unfortunately a major incident/s has been reported in the London Bridge area, possibly terrorist-related. The General Discussion forum has a thread discussing this. Please keep this one for travel information only.

For the information of all forum users travelling around London tonight:

I have no doubt information may change very quickly. Please keep an eye on the TfL and TOC websites.

Presently the suggestions of service disruption are as follows...

London Bridge and Borough Tube stations are closed
London Bridge and Blackfriars mainline stations are closed
Trains cannot run between New Cross / Charlton and London Cannon St / Charing Cross
Trains cannot run between Elephant & Castle and London Blackfriars

Please report any suspicious behaviour to the BTP by text on 61016, detailing your location, contact information and what is happening / who is doing it.

In the event of an incident make your way quickly from the area, conceal yourself, switch your phone to silent and text the BTP.

Update as follows:

Closure of Thameslink (from a physical boundary perspective rather than trains which may actually be running!) is from Farringdon to Elephant & Castle.

Charing Cross and Cannon Street mainline stations are also now closed.

Some other Thames road/pedestrian bridges may also be closed at short notice. Waterloo remains open. Victoria is open but mainline trains may be disrupted/diverted due to diversions from London Bridge.

Many "last trains" home may be affected. Please use help points / speak to station staff if you need help. Obviously be mindful there may be some considerable wait for transport homewards tonight.

Southeastern "metro" services are terminating/starting at New Cross. The ELL is running normally; as does the DLR. Bank station was closed but has now re-opened.

Latest from my colleagues at GTR (no link to provide at this time, sorry):

Avoid travelling into London Bridge and London Blackfriars. Please use London Victoria, London Waterloo or the East London Line. Your journey time will be extended.
Gatwick Express, Southeastern, London Overground, South West Trains, Southern Railway, Thameslink, Great Northern and TFL Rail are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Southern rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys. London Buses are accepting GTR tickets for any reasonable route.

=====

Southeastern "metro" services are terminating/starting at New Cross. The ELL appears to be running normally.

Yes, that is the latest information.

=====

Empty trains are being moved away from Blackfriars. London Bridge is closed to traffic entirely. No passenger trains are to move towards either station.

Vauxhall Tube station is now closed. Mainline situation is unclear.

The Central Line has just been suspended between Liverpool St and White City. The rest of it is severely disrupted.

The Waterloo & City Line is suspended although would probably have been closed shortly anyway (?).

Due to the closure of the Elephant & Castle <-> Farringdon route, it would seem Thameslink are pulling a chunk of services at St Pancras on the north side, and as far away as Gatwick Airport on the way up from Brighton.

The Northern Line is now suspended between Kennington and Camden Town via Bank.

Trapped mainline trains have, I believe, all been moved back to platforms or will be shortly.

=====

Mainline still open at present

Ta, SWT hadn't updated on that specific matter when I last checked!

The Central Line has reopened with severe delays "following an earlier security alert". My suspicions are that this could have been to do with the events being quite close to the Bank/Monument complex.

Social media messages emerging which indicate police may still be searching Tube stations in the area of London Bridge / Bank. The Northern Line remains suspended as above.

As per the General Discussion thread, the incidents at London Bridge and Borough Market are being treated as terrorist incidents. The incident at Vauxhall is not.

Blackfriars has been reopened to mainline services.

London Bridge remains closed and passengers should avoid that area until advised otherwise.

Southern / Thameslink / Southeastern have mutual ticket acceptance heading into the night, and GTR tickets dated for yesterday evening (03 June) will be accepted on early morning train services later today (04 June).

Could they run through non-stop to Cannon Street like Southeastern?
Even if there was space at Cannon Street, there aren't any rails going from New Cross Gate to the through platforms at the moment

As above, passengers should potentially expect disruption to London Bridge services at least tomorrow morning.

=====

Other services around London are now being affected by an intermittent widespread loss of signalling / train describer data around South London, at Three Bridges ROC and Victoria boxes.

Routes have been set allowing a number of trains to continue on their journeys for the time being, but junctions are becoming congested behind these.

Unsure how long this will continue or why such a widespread issue has occurred.

Trains are being suspended between East Croydon and London Victoria and many Thameslink trains are delayed, resulting in fewer alternative routes away from London Bridge.

Re. the above

All Southern & Thameslink services, and many Southeastern services, within the London area have been severely disrupted by a major power supply problem affecting traction and signalling supplies. Suspicions are that this may be due to a trespass incident in a power supply facility.

To stress, no suggestions are being proposed at this time this is related to the cause of yesterday's incidents, but trains on alternative routes avoiding London Bridge may continue to be severely disrupted and delayed. Services are being restored as and when alternative power supplies are being switched in.
