According to advice given by TfL, Bus and Tram Passes will be valid on Tube, Overground and DLR services over a reasonable route tomorrow.

So for example, a bus passenger can use the Central line between Tottenham Court Road and Marble Arch instead of Route 73.

However, will this require asking the gateline assistant to let you through the gates or will the gates be reprogrammed to accept the bus passes?

Only three bus companies have been granted an injunction. Metroline, Arriva Shires & Essex (can't confirm if this also affects Arriva London) and the London General part of Go-Ahead London.

Metrobus have confirmed that garages that operate London tenders except for Route 465 are all out.

Sounds complex if you have Oyster.
How do you get it to deduct a bus fare instead of a tube one?
A "bus and tram pass" is a product, weekly or longer, think of it as a zone zero travelcard (ie no rail/tube just bus and croydon tramlink).

It doesn't imply (to me) that people without this can get tube journeys at a cheaper payg rate.

It does lead to some complications. If a Oyster card holder has some PAYG to cover a single journey and a Bus Pass, the gateline assistant could argue that they should use their PAYG instead, also I doubt all of the assistants will be aware of all the local bus routes on strike that the lines run alongside when a pax explains where they're going to.

It'll be an interesting day for those staff and pax alike.
