But I don't agree that this is frustrating.

What is frustrating is that the situation is so unclear that not even the present company of experts can agree about the validity of my ticket.

The terminology implies that there is an _inappropriate_ connecting train, but doesn't explain.

Any attempt to interpret appropriate in Advance Ticket Terms and Conditions [1] as appropriate to the vendor is likely to contravene Clause 5 of The Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999 (S.I. 1999 No. 2083) [2].

I would of said you could use clause 7 to your advantage in this case

Written contracts
7. - (1) A seller or supplier shall ensure that any written term of a contract is expressed in plain, intelligible language.

(2) If there is doubt about the meaning of a written term, the interpretation which is most favourable to the consumer shall prevail but this rule shall not apply...
