I am planning to travel From St Pancras to Manchester via Sheffield on way out and direct to Euston on way back, need to know ticket prices and time validity, going out on 09.58 to Sheffield or later, the ticket office at St Pancras was not very helpful and if not badgered would have been sold more costly ticket last time, thanks

There are Any Permitted and Via Chesterfield tickets for this flow, with different time restrictions.

The Any Permitted SVR @ £82.40 has restriction 9I, :
LONDON EUSTON after 0429 and
before 09:26 or after 15:00
and before 18:45, except for
Easements shown below;

LONDON ST PANCRAS
INTERNATIONAL after 04:29 and
before 10:26 or after 15:15
and before 18:59;

The first train you could use on this would be the 1026 (though NRE erroneously shows this as not valid).

For the 0926 or 0958 departures you could ask for an excess on the outward portion to the Via Chesterfield fare - with a 9J restriction - which should cost you £17.80. This is one of those bizarre cases where the equivalent fare on a much less convenient route costs more (though the SOR is cheaper).

Break of journey is allowed on the outward (and return, as always) portions of these tickets so no problem leaving at Sheffield.

Depending on the times the OP is travelling they could get a London Terminals - Manchester route via Chesterfield Super Off Peak Return costing £80.50 and excess the return portion to the Off Peak Any Permitted for 95p.
