It is, as it happens.

Interesting to see how that'll play out then. Although I've no idea whether the HST fleet is at the 'no need to bother repairing casualties' stage yet, or if it remains under pressure?

A photo I saw on Flickr seemed to show no great signs of external damage; perhaps the damage won't be as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Perhaps.

Hopefully not. It isn't the first time that one has self combusted!

There was that 91 (forget which) that was reported on here to have essentially burned itself out initially, before word got out that it may be repaired...

So things aren't always as bad as they seem!

43195 is not being repaired after its collision damage.

As 43138 has a future lease agreed, it will probably be repaired - it is currently at Laira.

First class 43 to be cannibalised then I guess?

would have thought southall and ladbroke grove victims 43173 and 43011 would have wielded useful spares when they were disposed of

as we dont know the internal damage to 138 its possible 195 may be reactivated to replace it. Not unusual a practice in itself...

Not to mention Ufton Nervet victim 43019...
All these accidents probably yielded a lot of Mk3 spare parts too.

imagine a few bits of 43000 are still in circulation somewhere across the fleet too. VTEC, FGW and the royal train still have the coaches...

Very unlikely. If 43138 is deemed not worth repairing then a different Angel owned power car would drop into the ScotRail fleet.

But the state of 138 is all rumour and hearsay except to Angel and GWR engineers.

Are any of 350246 / 266 / 374 out of use?

I've seen all the rest twice in the last 4 months, but none of these ?

Maybe its luck of the draw ?

246 came off the road at Liverpool South Parkway (and got me a taxi home) in October. Not sure if it's back yet.

I thought it was 264 at Tyseley, before it got in a mixed formation with 233 ?

If it was 246 that explains alot :)

That's because they are life expired and are for disposal. Replaced by new Rail Grinders.

Any news on the class 317 demonstrator? It seems to have been in the same spot at Ilford depot for ages!

Passes 332014 at OOC the other day, and it does seem to look ever more folorn, with its light cluster glass and surrounds now robbed.

Chance of that returning to service are just about zero, especially with GWR taking over with converted 387s in the pipeline.

Just a depot Christmas tree, slowly being robbed of parts to replace parts on other members of the fleet.

Hopefully they'll give Northern a good deal on all the parts that'll go on the 333s...
