Deliberately excluding services through the Channel Tunnel what’s the longest, by distance, freight train journey in the UK? I’d like a regular (one a fortnight) service or better.
Switched to coming from Antwerpen via the tunnel, so excluded from the OP's criteria.Used to be the Burngullow (Cornwall) to Irvine (Scotland), but not sure it still runs now...
Good shout - I'd agree that is the longest run of any regular, timetabled freight service. What about the Felixstowe-Coatbridge liner?
