Leaving very shortly is the 2040 Blackpool North to Leeds service. Due into Leeds at 01.03. (I know the journey planner wouldn't suggest that service)

Have there been longer rail replacement services. I'm sure I've heard of Preston to Glasgow Central before.

It could be in terms of time or distance.

I'd think when Grayrigg happened and they all went onto coaches would be pretty long...

During the rail strikes of the 1990s, coaches between Scotland and London
This was due to the late notification and reservations having already been accepted in error

I am fairly sure that the Highland Scottish sleepers have been replaced by coaches on occasion.
