The new version (which is fun to drive, I have to say) runs from Barons Court to Arnos Grove has loads more scenery than the one you linked to, yet runs with 20frps on a 900Mhz machine (as tested by yours truley).

I remember a while ago on TTF Tom said he was going to start the route from scratch again - is v5 this, or is it the one Cox refers to?

The one above is a demo. I am currently testing the first release - Barons Court to Arnos Grove. It will then be released in stages to Cockfosters, Uxbridge and Heathrow (Heathrow will probably be when HT5 is opened).

So v5 (that was on BRJ) is the demo, and Damon is testing v5.2 at the moment, which will be released soon and then gradualy added to until it hits CF, UX and HR? :D Great! :D

v5 is the "start again" referred to. v5 demo is released as you can see on UKTS and runs Earls Court to KXSP. v5.2, which Damon is testing, runs from Barons Court to Arnos Grove. It will be released when it's ready, and not before.

You must be a bright spark to think conductor rails go over the top of normal ones at points - you certainly will be if you drive over them!

Not only that, but you'd also get so much arcing that the collector shoes would probably become welded to the conductor rails, and you'd knock out most of the signalling on the Northern Line. You would also severely damage all of the wheelsets, rip off the collector shoes, and remove massive chunks from the conductor rails.

wouldn't it just go bang as soon as the power was switched on anyway, seeing as its touch the running rail? so you wouldn't even get a train to cross the point.

Indeed, but if you were able to get traction current on, the 'bang' would be the least of your worries.

They'd still be scraping bits of you off the substation walls weeks later :).

Want to try it, RichardH?

No, standing on your 'finished' points on the Mill Hill Branch where the electric rails join each other and there being no switch blades
