Are there any Class 44/45/46's registered for running on Network Rail and are any of the loco's currently "runners" as I haven't seen one for some time?

45112 seems to be in my mind as a performer on the main line in the past.

Also on the same sort of subject are there any NR certified Class 40's or Class 25's?

Quick answer - no!

46035 was certified but taken out of service for an exam some time ago which was never completed. It is now dumped under a tarpaulin at Crewe Heritage Centre. 45112 last ran on the main line in 2007 and will be unable to do so again unless it is fitted with OTMR equipment. It is currently parked at the Nemesis depot at Burton.

The only certified Class 25 is D7628 at the NYMR, which is only certified for use between Battersby and Whitby. It is having its tyres renewed and should be back in service next month. 40145 is also main line certified but undergoing repairs at Barrow Hill after a failure in 2010 - if you fancy donating towards its return, visit the link at http://www.cfps.co.uk/d335bogiefund.htm

Am I right in thinking the only preserved non-steam locos on the main line at the moment are 55022, 50044, 50049, 86101, 87002 and D1015?

Very helpful - thanks, is Crewe HC the owner of 46035?

Add to that 20227, 47580 and 56301. And if you're going to include D1015 which is OOS then add 40145 to the list.

Whoops, forgot about 47773 and 86259, should've remembered the latter given I rode behind it last month!

20142 is owned by Class 20189 Ltd as far as I know (same owner as 20189). 20227 belongs to the Class 20 Locomotive Society.
