But I thought you were born a Lancastrian? This is Yorkshire we are talking.
Those Yorkshire boys need a good railway so they can quickly get to Gods own country - Lancashire.

Perhaps the sewing machine is there to advertise excursions to a Glasgow station?

..and don't forget; some of us Merseysiders were Lancastrians prior to 1974..

O / H opposite over hypotenuseDo you mean opposite over hypotenuse?
There's a big difference between Scouse Merseyside and Lancashire Merseyside. St Helens is still very much Lancashire in feel (and especially accent) whereas Liverpool never has been. As for the plastic scousers over the water....

Not this year though as I understand. Lancs CC have elected to go elsewhere.I know and still at least one Lancashire Cricket game is played at Liverpool IIRC each year.

Those in the northern coastal part that encompasses Southport will never fully come to terms with being associated with "Merseyside"...
Maybe not but the eenior citizens are quite happy to have the Merseytravel concessionary travel arrangements.
That's probably because all of the residents of this ceremonial county contribute via the respective area of their local Metropolitan Borough Council Tax contribution.

But still have a Lancashire postcode.
But still have a Lancashire postcode.
Altrincham which is in Greater Manchester has a Warrington postcode which is in Cheshire.
The only thing a postcode means these days is that it's easier for the Royal Mail to send a letter or parcel to the right sorting office for local (?) delivery. The postcode has nothing to do anymore with what county a town is in. Grimsby has a Doncaster (DN) postcode for example.
