Hi, we will be staying in Premiers Suites tonight in M4 4AA which is near to Manchester Victoria. We need to get across town to the Lowry to arrive by around 7pm.

As far as I am aware the train is not practical, so short of getting a taxi which will be quite expensive, can anyone advice on either trams or buses to get us there?

Many thanks

You could take a tram from Shudehill (2 mins away) to Piccadilly Gardens then change there for a service to Media City, alternatively walk to Victoria Station and take a East Didsbury bound tram via the newly opened 2nd city crossing route to St Peters Square, changing here for a Media City or Eccles bound service. Leaving around 18:15 you should arrive in plenty of time, also the Lowry is just a couple of minutes walk from Media City Station, hope that's of help.

As well as changing at Piccadilly Gardens you can also take a tram to St Peter's Square and change there onto the Eccles Line, depending on whichever tram is due first at Shudehill. You can also walk to Piccadilly Gardens from Shudehill.

Another option would be to walk to Albert Square and catch the 50 bus, which takes about half an hour.

The tram is probably the best option. As long as you leave by 6pm you'll have plenty of time. If you decide to get a tram from Shudehill and change, you can change at either St Peter's Square, Deansgate or Cornbrook.

Thanks guys.

Last night we walked to Piccadilly Gardens and then got the tram direct to Media City.
