Manchester Piccadilly level crossing?

I was browsing through my copy of "Track Atlas of Mainland Britain" last night, and happened to examine the enlarged map of Machester Piccadilly. Just outside the station, where the lines join from the south, it indicates a level crossing _black line across the tracks at right angles with "LC" beside it. However, a quick check on Google Streetview shows that the station and lines are above street level - the roads go under the railway. Is this "LC" an error?

I seem to remember a staff foot crossing before they changed the layout many years ago, but there certainly isn't a "proper" level crossing there!

Maybe it's a Mountweazel

There's another "deliberate" mistake in the Carlisle map on page 121...

I just noticed a similar "crossing" black line on 45A of the Midlands & North West Quail Second Edition.

Could be a Mountweazel, I suppose!

Unless its a really old map and refering to the old goods sidings underneath the station that crossed the local roads at street level.
