A quote from Northern Rail's Emergency News Bulletin:

Due to major engineering works, Manchester Piccadilly station will be closed all day Saturday 15th October through until the early hours of Sunday morning. If you are travelling this weekend please check National Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950 or www.nationalrail.co.uk

This is certainly going to cause some disruption :o

all trains turned round at hazel grove on saturday, an arrangement i've found strange. it must be because of the big car park.

Lack of turning around capacity at Stockport is another problem. There are many good bus links from Hazel Grove anyway.
