The Swiss Federal Council has ordered masks on trains from 6 July. More details on the SBB website:
English version
Only children below the age of 12 and people who cannot wear masks for medical reasons are excepted from this rule.

Switzerland had quite a few deaths per capita, at least at the start. I'm surprised the SBB didn't introduce this when services resumed normality 4 weeks ago.

Eating and drinking is still permitted on public transport – you can remove your mask to do so.

Why did so many people on here have a meltdown, when this was introduced in the UK? Common Sense again surely. No one was ever expecting someone not to remove their mask if they needed a drink?!

Having said that, it is nice to see some clarity as regards rules of face masks, properly spelled out.

Admittedly, it was never as crystal clear over here.
