2U40 looks to of split at southport with one unit working 5T64 to kirkdale, chance it’s going onto ormskirks to replace a failed 777 (who’s surprised)

507016 is having issues on nbn :38s, looks to of failed the trip tester at north

Yes, I was on this service. 507014 ran alone. Agency staff at Southport for the re-modelling were ordering passengers to the front set, regardless of where people were going (i.e. Wigan/Manchester).

nbn sidings after spitting its dummy out today
Proof not just 777s fail still.

yep, except the 507s fail after 6000 miles compared to 500 off the 777s. no point saying it’s not just the 777s because it’s expected that a 46 year old train is going to fail

Inevitable given where it was stabled last night. Leaving units at New Brighton is becoming a liability; plenty have been hit in recent months.

001 has unfortunately suffered a graffiti attack. Hopefully it can be cleaned up asap.

Oh dear, that is grim. They need to wash that off ASAP.

5868 has also been attacked, albeit only a tiny tag under the side cab window.

Unfortunately these cretins have become very clued up on which units are likely to gain the biggest coverage for their mess (I think they call it a tag but I'd argue this is subjective) based on which ones are likely to be photographed the most and posted onto social media the most. So units with special liveries and new units will always be high up the target list because of the coverage we give them - it's actually better to not post any images of graffiti at all as it renders the effort they go to pointless

What I cannot get my head round is how they get away with it, especially up there. I went to get a photograph at Southport station of two units in the platforms and got royally rollocked for going past a sign that had been covered by a bin bag. Yet these so called "artists" can wander about a railway property to the hearts content. On the back of that if they got killed or injured the families could sue because the railway had allowed them to trespass by not ensuring the area was secure.

Not quite true unfortunately as other Class 507's and Class 777's have been done too. The scumbags who do this have no clue what is what on a railway, as all they see is a blank canvas on the side of a train!

As for your latter thought, I totally agree.

2N22 New Brighton just left Hamilton Square with 507028

507023 outside Birkenhead North, 507017 and 507018 coupled in the through siding.

12:47 - 507017 and 507018 now at West Kirby in siding next to the car park.

Given that the BLS 507 Farewell tour has been postponed from May until later in the summer, I presume that some of the 507s have a while left in them yet?

As of the current amount of withdrawals and in service, can we get a list of in service, withdrawn (recently) and expected to be withdrawn. Also, at this rate are they making it to mid-April in service?

Branch Line Society seem to think so - indeed the society's 507 farewell rail tour has been postponed from May until the summer. In theory, BLS hope to be using 507001 and 507003.

Type "scrapped" into the Search Fleet box to see all that are scrapped and "stored" in the same box to see all that are reportedly withdrawn :)
