Yesterday (Wednesday) a bendybus carrying school children became stuck on a level crossing in Buxtehude Hedendorf, Germany after a safety device that immobilises the bus if it turns to sharply to prevent the flexible connection getting damaged or the rear of the bus separating kicked in as the bus was turning off the crossing onto a road parallel to railway.
The driver managed to get everyone off after a warning from children on the back seats that the train was approaching and no-one was injured, although there were some passengers with bruises on the Metronom double deck train.
The bus was taking a planned detour from it's normal route due to roadworks on the main road.
