If you give me the exact route, I'll add it up from book 5 of the Quails for you.

Thanks for your offer Techniquest, and sorry it's taken me a while to get back to you..

Leamington, Banbury, Bicester North, Gerrards Cross, Greenford, West Ealing and Willesden.

My current mileage total is 13,440.53 miles, plus the bit from South Ruislip to London Euston.

Sorry i can't really be more specific Techniquest, as i don't know the line at all really, apart from knowing that it was the Chiltern line between Banbury and South Ruislip, and that we ran along the GWML for a few minutes in the Ealing Broadway area, before running up the slight incline, away from the GWML, and towards the WCML.

A know the small incline/junction is the same one which was used by the Brighton Voyagers running away from the GWML, towards Kensington Olympia, as i used the Brighton Voyager roughly around six weeks before the service ended.

I know the route you did then, or as close as possible (having not done it myself, I have no personal experience to work off) to it. T'was the booked route for the blockade runners.

I'll get onto working out your route ASAP, either replying here or sending you a PM. If I haven't got back to you before 31st December, drop me a line. I'll be working out someone else's mileage for a Voyager trip either tonight or tomorrow, so I'll do yours too.

As for my mileage, I've done a LOT since my last update, sadly not enough to win or owt, but I'm taking my time getting it all added up!

No worries, I'm sure you've helped me learn more about Voyagers than I knew at the time ages ago, plus I'm always happy to help Voyager cranks whenever I can ;)

After a long time not calculating, my total is roughly 9,500. It might be a little more, but I wouldnt want to estimate by how much. 9500 should do fine.

I guess we're having a new competition for 2009? Might plan a wayfarer bash so that I can be top for a day or two ;)

That must be done, and I'm already planning some nedding trips to get the mileage up but on minimum cost. Think Cheltenham to Tiverton and back for much of a day...<D<D<D

Greetings :D

Despite good intentions I have let the mileage totting up lapse somewhat. Currently adding everything up (very slowly!) and hope to come up with a final figure in the next couple of days.

BTW my record for a calendar year is something like 55,000 miles - but I don't think it will be anywhere near that figure this year.

Due to the sheer hugeness of my mileage to add up still, can I post my final total later this week? Got 3 months of mileage to add up still here and I'll never get it done in time before 2009 begins!

****!!! Now THAT is a mileage to be proud of!

My final figure stands at a whopping (and oh so close to my 20,000 for 2008 target) 19,322.25 miles. I am suitably happy with that! Not quite the top 10 as originally aimed for, close enough though! Took me 6 hours to work out 3 months of mileage, but it's done and dusted for 2008 now.

Bring on 2009 and a whole new competition! Techniquest for 20,000 miles in 2009!
