I'm sadly nowhere near the top either, and I've not managed to clear my 10000 as I'd originally hoped too - I ended up being asked to work longer hours on the afternoon I'd set aside for a last trip. My end of year total isn't quite in, as I've still got some local journeys to add on the 24th and 27th, and possibly something on the 30th if I'm feeling adventurous.

Just done a bit of adding up and updating my records, and mileage currently stands at 8,000 exactly!

It leaves off a couple of Metrolink and LUL journeys that haven't been included.

I have one more day tomorrow to up the mileage, but given most of it will be on Northern services, I doubt I'll add more than a couple hundred more miles to the final total for the year.

About 6500 miles for me, and all I have to do is the Witham branch on New Year's Eve, which is about 6 miles each way :P

Pretty pleased for my first year, with a couple of trips to Edinburgh and Wales on the cards for next year, I'm determined to beat it!

I've upped my 2013 mileage target to 5,000. Seems appropriate given I'm starting my 2013 bashing on New Year's Day, a day I never normally get to start things off on. Gonna be hungover still, so writing down moves and taking photos won't be much fun, but it'll be interesting to try.

Well, I ended up finding some reasonable Advances for a trip down the East Coast today and had a run out to Ashford on HS1, and returning via Tonbridge for some new track. This trip brings my total for the year to 9974m 72ch - so it would be rude not to go out briefly tomorrow afternoon to get the last 26 miles!

Nearly finished for the year here, just need to get home this afternoon which will add either 33 or 47 miles depending on which way I go.

My final total should be around 49,000 as there are numerous bits and pieces that I have not got round to measuring up, mostly silly little things like tram journeys and shunt moves though there are a couple of quite substantial trips that still need sorting.

Won't bother setting a target for next year though might try and get over 50,000 miles again if possible; it will depend on how many times I fly versus Eurostar and how often I get out in the UK (suffering general lack of interest on that front though have got motivated enough to book the UK Tours trip on 5th January)

Finished off with a quick run out to Newark Castle and back from Lincoln to clear the 10,000 mark.

I need to tot up yesterday's moves which were intended to get me over 10,000 miles but when plans go out the window after connections are missed, I believe I reside at about 9,900 miles for 2012. When is the closing date for entry please?

Just added up my total and it came to 3384 miles, of which around half consisted of travelling to school.

After ending the year in the same way I started it (on a doubled up TPE 170), my total for the year is 8266 miles (Excel tells me I have done 8266.013 miles)

Although it didn't include the mileage for a couple of short hops of Metrolink and LUL, it includes the majority.

Checking back earlier, my total for 2011 was about 1500 miles less, so not too bad. I get a feeling mileage for 2013 will be lower, but we will see

My longest single journey of the year was on 390008, all the way from Glasgow Central to London Euston at 401 miles back in April (a day which saw a further Pendo journey of over 200 miles and a total for the day of 905 miles). April was also the month with the highest mileage at 3356, most certainly contributing a fair amount to my annual total

April involved quite a few IC services, plus it was the London challenge which brought in a bit, plus both the day before and day after. I think in the space of 3 weeks, I had made about 6 journeys into/through London (from Yorkshire)!

I'm in the process of working mone out at the moment. I've got up to the end of April so far and the total to then is 6522.55. It'll probably take me a week to get the rest of them done.

If my calculations throughout the year were correct, then i've come to a total of 5368 miles & 19 chains. Quite impressed i've done as much as that, to be honest! Adding a bit of volultary working mileage brings it up to 5503 miles & 75 chains. Target for 6,000 miles next year doesn't sound too unreasonable.

I'm not far off finishing mine - just a trip to Germany which I'm still working out using the Schweers & Wall Eisenbahnatlas which is quite challenging to say the least.
