Mileage Competition 2013

5688 rounds it off for me. Don't really go for mileage but surprised I achieved this amount as didn't go out as much as I liked. There were some big trips including many Ellesmere Port-Helsby runs, a round trip to Glasgow (CPU-CTR-WBQ-GLC-GLQ-EDB-YRK-LIV-CPU) and the Pembroke Dock HST's.

I shall be on the 2014 scoreboard later today and will be able to finalise my 2013 mileage in the next few days but I estimate it somewhere around 11,000 miles.

I finished 2013 on 23691, about 3000 short of my target. My mileage really tailed off in the later part of the year. I need to go further now to see anything so it happens less frequently. For 2014 my first miles should be on the board by this weekend. I don't think I will set a target this year but I imagine it will be significantly less than this year.

Two high milage railtours in the final two weekends of the year (both to Humberside) boosted my final total to 54548 m 47 ch

Haven't finished working mine out yet but likely to be around the 40,000 miles mark - worst total for me since the late 1990s

Several reasons for this but the main reasons are probably less trips on Eurostar due to shifting my interests further east (takes too long to get there by rail) and an ever decreasing interest in the UK railway scene.

Have ended with 5790 miles this year, just over 400 more than last year. Aiming for over 6000 this year, but no longer being able to use a 16 to 25 railcard will make it more expensive!

Ah yes, the good old can afford it with working, but they won't let me out to have fun :P

I started trying to do a cost per mile the other year but gave up about half way through :P

As of yet, I have zero mileage for 2013...I really should work it out sometime soon...

I've got 1,987 miles for myself which is minuscule compared to your results but quite a bit for me, I only took up an interest in rail travel halfway through last year. 1,263 miles with CrossCountry, 723 miles with First Great Western.

Total combined journey time is 2,275 minutes, so around 38 hours. A total cost of £208.05, averaging 10.47p per mile.

I'm hoping to get atleast double that next year. I'll be off to uni so shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

Oh sugar! I found out tonight that I've typed none of mine up since April so I'm on catch up. Looks like I may not get a final mileage in in time

Thanks for this - new years resolution is to keep up with entering and calculating mileages this year!!!

Nonetheless, my final total stands at 7,975 miles - a drop again on 2012 (though full time work accounts for the lower amount!). I probably have a tiny bit more but gave up trying to work out some of the Metrolink etc mileages!

So here we are. Final standings for the 2013 table. 12CSVT gained revenge on Mr Spock by narrowly beating him with a shorter distance than a round-trip between Euston and Carlisle.
