What's it called? It's called Cumbernauld
I thought I had already posted my first quarter mileages in this thread, but it seems apparently not.

Jan - March 2017 (Quarter 1) saw me accumulate 5100 miles. Big mileage trips included some Glasgow & South Western Railway bits (353), Tyne and Tees Day Ranger (506), "Tornado" along the Settle & Carlisle (424), Midland Meander railtour (1235 including to and from London), the sleeper from Garelochhead to London via Edinburgh (476), Anglia Plus Day Ranger(432), Thames Branches Day Ranger (486), and some bits and pieces along South Eastern Railway metals (229). It is noted that in comparison to 2016, my quarterly meeting in London was brought forward from the beginning of April to the end of March due to when Easter fell in 2017, hence how the increase from 2333 miles during the same quarter from 2016.

April - June 2017 (Quarter 2) saw me accumulate 7100 miles, which brings the first half of 2017 to a total of 12200 miles. Big mileages during this quarter are Freedom of the North East Rover (2159), Class 365 hunting and some London, Brighton, & South Coast Railway metals bits and pieces (2475), Northern Rail £10 offer (679), a day trip to Spean Bridge (265), the sleeper from Edinburgh to London (445), Anglia Day Ranger (413), and Thames Branches and Oxfordshire Day Ranger (378). Again, my quarterly meeting in London was brought forward from the second week of July to the first weekend, hence how part of my bashing activities in London are split across June and July. Surprisingly, when compared with the second quarter of 2016, I am more or less on a par with a slight increase from 7015 miles in 2016 to 7100 for this period for 2017. Also, the Freedom of the North East Rover in 2016 was done in June, with 2017 being done in April, which explains the not so high increase in 2017s mileage for this quarter.

2017 running total so far (to end of June) = 12200 miles
9347 Jan - Jun 2016. Increase of 2853 in first half of 2017.

Half-time is over here, and after my return to the rails I'm now on 10,479 miles this year. Only 1,521 miles to go to match my target for the year with 5 months to do it in! Unsurprisingly, I've now upped the target to 14,000 which I think is perfectly doable even for a part time basher like me. We'll soon see...

I'm currently on 8,200 miles for this year, way behind my target.

I'm behind myself, I had hoped to have a better July than I've had and Q3 2017 has been utter tosh so far. Thankfully it'll pick up soon, but the red pen is gathering dust...

I should have a mileage update by the weekend, following my mini London bash on Thursday evening/Friday morning.

My only mileage is to and from Sheffield at the moment, and anything I do locally if I feel like getting myself a SaveAway, so I'm not optimistic of any big jumps until I decide to do my next All Line Rover.

I'm still hoping to bag my last Northern unit required for a ride before the end of the year, but 142058 is proving extremely elusive at the moment. I might do another weekend in South Wales for some buses and trains at some point soon, but I'll see what happens.

From the European International Timetable
Ashford International to Calais Frethun is 76km or 47m 17ch
and
from railmiles engine
Ashford International to Folkestone Central is 13m 64ch

so Folkestone to Calais is 33m 33ch so return is 66m 66ch.

Hope that helps

RM update complete, currently I'm sitting on 10,878 miles this year after this week's mini London bash. Nothing else due before the middle of August now, although if I get the chance for a little spin on Friday I'll naturally be out for it!

Another update from me, I'm now up to 8,471 miles for the year after another trip over to Sheffield (and up to York yesterday). Yesterday, I made the decision to reduce my target for this year from 20,000 to 12,000 miles, that way I might have a chance of exceeding it.

I'm still after the elusive 142058, so I expect to do a bit of mileage as I attempt to track it down. With 2018 steadily approaching, I'm beginning to wonder if I'll beat my target of getting all of Northern's units for haulage by the end of this year.

I meant the EuroTunnel Le Shuttle (vehicles) not normal passenger rail! Thanks for that, but do you know if that is correct for the Eurotunnel as well?

Well I've missed my end of month target, finishing July on 4175mi77ch for the year. Still on track for 10k by 2018 with a large number of football away days planned.

I'm planning to do some more away days this season myself, but I haven't decided what ones yet though. I'm thinking about doing the ones which have stadiums I haven't visited yet, which is quite a few...

That's what I'm doing, and following our relegation there's quite a lot of 'new' grounds for me. Bradford, Rochdale and Shrewsbury away all before the end of September should ramp my mileage up a bit.

Also, does anyone have distances for the IoW Steam Railway? (sorry for asking so many distances!)

Another update from me, I'm now up to 9,486 miles after a week away in Yorkshire.

EDIT: In addition to this, I finally got the last Northern unit I needed for a ride (excluding the 319s which are still to enter service) since my last mileage update.

Been a slow month so far for me - 4406mi51ch. Going to Bradford on Saturday will push it up a bit more along with a few trips to Blackburn before the month is out.

Thanks mate. It took a while, but I got there in the end. :)

It's good to be able to focus on visiting stations for a change, at least until the new/cascaded stock for Northern enters service. I'm still not all that excited about the new Merseyrail trains, but I imagine I'll try and clear all of those at some point.

Does anyone have detailed mileage figures for the Wensleydale Railway, preserved diesels website doesn't seem to contain figures for preserved lines anymore.
