When someone previously questioned why Northern set fares didn't have off-peak day returns the response they got was it's because the Anytime single is 10p or more cheaper than the Off Peak Day Return so one is not required.
However, today I've noticed that for a few fares between Altrincham and the Wirral, such as Altrincham to Spital the fares are:
Off Peak Day Single: N/A
Off Peak Single: N/A
Anytime Single: £17.10
Off Peak Day Return: N/A
Anytime Day Return: N/A
Off Peak Return: £15.40
Anytime Return: £19.30
Should an Off Peak Single exist with this flow with the single ticket costing more than the Off Peak Return?
