I'm due to arrive into EDB on an AWC train however the booked LNER onward connection to Inverness is tight(ish) - roughly 15 mins. As this is the only LNER train of the day to INV if i missed my connection would I be permitted to use the next available Scotrail service ?
Thanks.

Can you not change at Haymarket instead, extending your connection time?

If, as seems likely, you are travelling on 9S60 1016 Euston-Edinburgh it is also possible to change at Haymarket, giving a 27 minute connection (1612 to 1639).
Good shout. And, if that is the Avanti train in question, it seems to have caught up a bit of time on its arrival into Carlisle just now, and is maybe only 6 minutes down.

and they often pick up more between Carlisle and Edinburgh - there is about 5 mins in the schedule..
p.s. Currently 1 early at Wester Hailes!

I will be travelling on a Birmingham New St to Inverness ADVANCE. BHM-EDB on Avanti and EDB-INV on LNER . I often do this journey and have the 'bail out at Haymarket' option if very late. However , if even this doesn't prevent me missing my connection what are my options ?
Edit : I am not currently undertaking this journey. It will be in a few weeks time.

We had Advance tickets from Birmingham to Aberdeen, on Avanti and LNER. As we got near to Haymarket where we were scheduled to change, we were running several minutes late. An Avanti on board staff member announced that passengers for Dundee and Aberdeen should remain on the train into Waverley and get the next appropriate Scotrail service to complete our journey.

There was no problem whatsoever when the Scotrail guard heard we didn't have a ticket for his train, he was happy to let us travel. Not sure if this was pre-arranged but it indicates that it's not unheard of and doesn't cause any issues.

The ticket is routed AWC & Connections so there is no issue with being on the 'wrong' company's train if you miss the LNER service.

My paper ticket will have the LNER coach and seat reservation printed on it . It was bought on the forum affiliated ticket split website

You will still be able to travel on a Scotrail service, just minus a seat reservation.
