Just a general query, what is the scrap value of the BR Mk 1 coach these days and what is the general going price for a fully-restored version?

A fully restored one came up for sale not long ago for about 20k not so long ago. I think one that needs a full restoration went for about 5k. This was about 12 months ago in the traction advertiser.

Scrap value is going to be about £6 K.

Depends what you mean by "fully restored", but £20k sounds way too low. Think several times that. If you take the scrap value as the starting point, you don't get much work done for another £15k. Coach restoration is not a cheap business. Mk 1 coaches develop some nasty and expensive rot issues, that are not cheap to rectify. The ready source of spare parts from scrap units has dried up now as well.
