I've noticed that some of the seemingly abandoned MK1 and MK2 carriages have been moved at Crewe Sidings (Some have now been removed over the last couple of weeks) and wondered what their fate was/is going to be?
Some of them look as if a bit of refurbishment would make them ideal for heritage or railtours (subject to the necessary modifications).
However I get the impression they're destined for scrap.
Also as an aside, what use did EWS have for a kitchen unit? (Besides the obvious of providing refreshment to workers?)
P.s Can a mod please correct the typo in the title of this thread.
