So let me get this right. Whippet cancel the X3 (a proper N&P job). This Charlie character goes on a campaign about Franchising and rural services while appearing to say Stagecoach would squeeze them out of Papworth (where they don't operate anyway). In the meantime the council ask another operator to run a commercial replacement which they accept (according to local media) and then good old Charlie says the X3 might be saved. Then 10k magically finds its way to Whippets.

I can only conclude the only company playing with people's lives is Whippets

Well there is still no confirmation that the X3 will actually run beyond the end of next week. According to Whippet's news page, updated today, they still haven't received confirmation that they will be getting the £10k from the mayor to continue until March. There's a lot of disgruntlement locally that regular users are having to buy daily/weekly tickets instead of cheaper monthly ones because there is still no guarantee of continuing service.

To quote exactly:

"Route X3
Passengers on the X3 should NOT purchase 4-Week Rover tickets at the moment until we have confirmation that the service will continue beyond Friday 9 November 2018. We have submitted our request to continue with the existing timetable and we hope that this will be granted, given the considerable effort many people have put in to saving the service (still correct as at 29/10/18)."

Have Whippets re-registered the X3 as it was properly cancelled a few weeks ago according to the N&P?
